Reggae veteran, George Nooks, will be in court today to fight for his freedom.
The star and his attorney will face off against the prosecution as Nooks defends himself against drug charges.
The artiste is being represented by the same attorney that represented Vybz Kartel during his murder trial, Tom Tavares-Finson.
The 56-year-old Nooks was accosted by the police earlier this year after they claimed he gave them probable cause to stop and search him. After searching the artiste, the lawmen claim they found approximately 2 ounces of cocaine on his person.
If found guilty, Nooks could face up to 5 years in prison.
George Nooks is known for hit songs like “God is standing by” and “Tribal war”.
