News reaching 18 Karat Reggae is that veteran artiste, Michael Prophet, passed away early this morning.  It was revealed last week that the artiste was very ill after being diagnosed with cancer.

Prophet who was born in 1957 began recording music in 1977 but did not rise to fame until the eighties with hit songs like Gunman and You are no good.
