Jah Rain brings showers of blessings to Reggae.

Jah Rain, whose real name is “Umar Plummer” born and raise in a little district called Carr Hill, located in Rock Hall, St.Andrew, Jamaica, which is the home of the (Bonner Brothers, Pliers, Richie Spice and Spanner Bonner).

Jah Rain comes as a blessing and this is manifested in his wealth of talent – Recording Artiste, Composer, Writer, Engineer and Producer, Jah Rain also play a vital and very important role in the Just For Peace foundation (JFPF) as the “Public Relations Officer” and also the main judge for the “Just For Peace Talent Contest”.

Jah Rain talent has not gone unseen, Just for Peace Foundation is an organization that promotes Peace, Love, and Unity through conscious lyrics throughout several secondary schools across Jamaica, have grafted his extraordinary talent. In addition, Jah Rain also plays another important role in “Just for Peace Programme” has been assigned the job of coaching finalists in the Just For Peace Talent Contest which involves students ages 14 to 18 years old.

Jah Rain’s relationship with Music and other record labels allows him to produced and co-produced several albums including (Bless My Soul Album & Rite Now album) featuring tracks like “Donʼt Burn Your Bridges, Waves (Reggae Cover), Treasure Ft. Chaka Demus, Rite Now” just to name a few on his own Iyah Vybz Muzik label. He also has other releases with record labels in France and the parts of the world including 149 Records with songs like “Missah Man Deh, War Zone, Bloody City, Smoke it up” and few others.

Jah Rain was influenced by his father, Dyrick Plummer who use to play kettle drums and also other well-known musicians like Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Dennis brown and Sizzla just to name a few, Jah Rain’s mother Johanna knows that he will one day realize his dreams of becoming a successful Musician.

Jah Rain started showing an interest in music since very young, however, he did not start his professional career until 2006. His songs are more in the genre of Conscious Roots Reggae and bring out his unique voice and lyrics which are now starting to gather a strong listening audience. Jah Rain’s conception is to reach the global community with his music bringing out a spiritual awakening in others, spreading his positive messages about through music.

Jah Rain began to build riddims in his early twenties. He was inspired by Lee Scratch Perry- a Grammy Award Winner and also sly and Robbie they are famous for the one drop rhythm and dancehall. ” Jah Rain was first fascinated in building dancehall riddims, then suddenly changed to Reggae one drop and roots.

Jah Rain then moved on to produce a few One Drop and Roots Riddim that featured artistes such as Zabiki, Lutan Fyah, Little John, Eddie Fitzroy, Chaka Demus, Little Kirk and himself. He recalled Bob Marley and Sizzla as the artistes who impacted most on his music career in the latter part of the 1990’s. “Bob Marley” and “Sizzla has a unique style which appeal to the masses. The talented artist ( Jah Rain ) has done several radio and television interviews.

Jah Rain never stopped there as he went on to form his own Band (Iyah Vybz Kreation Band) as he gets deeper into Roots Reggae Music, Jah Rain and the Iyah Vybz Kreation Band performed several events including on National Television (Television Jamaica TVJ) February 6th 2014 the celebration of the great legend Bob Marley and Gungo Walk Festival 2 year in a row, people compare Jah Rain sounds with the 2 greatest roots reggae artist (Bob Marley and Peter tosh) when performing his deep roots reggae music.

Jah Rain becomes more in depth with writing, composing, engineering, producing for himself and other well-known establish artist such as “Chaka Demus” from the duo (Chaka Demus & Pliers), Lutan Fyah, Little Kirk and many other talented up and coming artist.Jah Rain have written and produced several songs for Chaka Demus, songs like “Baby” a cover of the Heptones , “Up Deh” and “ Trouble” just to name a few which is his 3 latest singles burning up the airwaves, “Jah Rain” is attempting to establish his place in the world of music through the journey of realising his true spiritual self. His deep and strong desire to share and promote his positive messages through his riddims that have a profound and prolific meaning to each song he represents. He describes his music as an enlightenment towards the truth of waking up the souls, minds, energies and uplifting of the audience.He attempts to reach everyone by displaying all of his positive vibes to the world.
