Survivor Slim whose real name is Ricardo Raffington was born in Kingston, Jamaica. The 36-year-old is a reggae artist, dancehall entrepreneur and record producer.
Called “Zedanta” on stage by his many fans, he has performed internationally while on tour with Spragga Benz in Japan, Barbados and the United Kingdom. As a promoter Zedanta has staged over 300 shows in the past 15 years, entertaining true reggae fans at Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Orlando, Tampa, Tallahassee and Jacksonville in Florida.
Nationally, Survivor Slim brought shows to Atlanta, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., New York City, Virginia, North and South Carolina and of course many hot lineups in La La Land.
Survivor Slim has featured top artists including; Cee Lo Green, Marleys, Sizzla Kolanji, Capelton, Spragga Benz, Yellow Man, Kevin Little, Red Rat, Delly Ranx, Beenie Man, Bushman, Baby Sham, Ghost, Wayne Marshal, Vybz Kartel and Agent Sasco.
Raffington is founder of RSQTHP Music Group and personal manager of future dancehall super-star Xyclone.
His “world music” philosophy promotes, “take the music, grind it out.” In other words, bring music to the world through every media: live performances, radio, television, video, CD’s and internet downloads.
Survivor Slim has pressed out the hit singles. An early studio production was Kevin Littles’ “Take a ride” which rode high on the charts. Both the music and video of Spragga Benz mega-hit “Every Breath” was a project of RSQTHP Music Group.
Since the passing of Tugz, Red square spragga Benz has enlisted survivor slim to be his next in charge of the red square label and brand . His latest release “Free the ghetto yutes” on the Freedom street riddim is going to grab people’s attention with what is going on in today’s Society .
