Reggae fans on the west coast of the United States will be in for a treat in just a few days when the first lady of the reggae revival movement begins her tour out there.

Jah9 along with her Dub Treatment Band will take the United States West Coast by storm in a our that she calls ‘Unafraid’.

Jah9 just wrapped up touring with Chronixx on his Chronology tour and before she can rest, she is hitting the road again.  It can be said that there is no rest for the weary but in this case, when you are doing Jah works, Rasta never gets weary.

The Unafraid Tour kicks off on May 28 at California Roots Fest, then down to Los Angeles for the UCLA Jazz Fest.

The Dub Treatment will then move up the coast for a number of club dates, including Sacramento, San Diego and Nevada City, California.

Mellow Mood will join Jah9 for a string of dates from June 8 to 11 in Oregon and Seattle.

Jah9 and the band will make their way into Canada for the Victoria Ska fest and special opening set for Tarrus Riley in Vancouver.

Of special note is ‘Yoga on Dub’ in Vancouver, which will take place on June 13.

Naming the tour Unafraid goes beyond just the issues in a track on the ‘9’ album, and speaks to a confidence and strength that is made possible when there is a collective consensus to overcome fear and limitation.
