When it comes to dancehall stars that are working hard to uplift the island of Jamaica as well as providing assistance to those less fortunate, the first names to come to mind are Sizzla, Capleton, Bounty Killer and the Don Gorgon himself, Ninja Man.  So it goes without saying that dancehall fans get real worried when they hear that Ninja could be joining Vybz Kartel in prison.

A high court judge ordered today that a murder trial for Ninja Man commenced immediately.  The judge ordered that the jury selection for the trial was to begin today with no excuses.

Ninja Man was arrested and charged with murder in 2009 for the fatal shooting of Ricardo Johnson. His son Janeil Ballentine and another man, Dennis Clayton were also charged in the murder.

Ninja Man’s attorney, Valerie Neita-Robertson, asked for a stay of proceedings in the eight-year-old case for abuse of process. There have been 17 trial dates and 23 mention dates in the case.

The judge denied the stay and instructed Ninja Man’s attorney that any abuse could be taken up in the trial.

With all the madness and violence in Jamaica, Ninja Man has been one of the few shining beacon of lights.  Not only have his words been promoting peace, love and unity among Jamaicans but his actions have been as well.

Let’s pray that Ninja Man will not be joining Vybz Kartel behind prison walls.
